Privacy Policy
Teleprompter GT · Effective 8 November 2026
The short version
- Your scripts and recordings stay on your device. Nothing leaves it unless you turn on sync.
- Voice-follow listens and recognizes your speech on the device. Audio is never recorded for us or sent to us.
- Sync is optional. It needs a Pro subscription and Sign in with Apple, and it stores your scripts on our server so your other devices can get them.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell or share your information.
- Apple handles every payment. We never see your card or payment details.
- You can delete your account, and everything synced with it, from inside the app at any time.
- If you join the launch waitlist on our website, we keep only your email, use it once to send your launch-day code, then delete it.
Who we are
Teleprompter GT (“the app”) is a teleprompter for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is made by Garson Tech (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. It applies to the app on every device and to the sync service that comes with Pro.
What stays on your device
The app keeps the following on the device you use it on. It is not sent to us unless you use sync, described in the next section.
- Scripts: the titles and text you write or import, and scripts you have deleted (kept in Recently deleted so you can restore them).
- Settings: text size, speed, mirroring, the prompter box layout and your remote and keyboard shortcuts.
- Recordings (takes): videos you record with the camera. They are saved on your device: to your Photos library on the free plan, or to the app’s Takes library with Pro. If a take can’t be saved there, it is kept in Files, in the app’s Unsaved Takes folder. Takes go anywhere else only if you share them yourself.
- Imported files: Word, PDF and text files you import are read on the device to create a script. The original file is not uploaded anywhere.
Camera, microphone and speech
- Camera is used only while you record a take.
- Microphone is used for recording takes and, if you turn on voice-follow, to hear where you are in the script.
- Speech recognition for voice-follow runs entirely on the device, using Apple’s on-device speech technology. The app may download Apple’s speech model the first time you use it. Your audio and what you say are not stored and are not sent to us.
- Photos access is add-only: the app can save a take to your library but cannot read your photos or videos.
You can change any of these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings.
What we store if you turn on sync
With a Pro subscription you can sign in with Apple to keep your scripts in sync across your iPhone, iPad and Mac. If you do, our server stores:
- Your account: a user ID that Sign in with Apple gives us, and the email address Apple shares with us. If you choose “Hide My Email”, this is a private relay address from Apple, not your real one.
- Your scripts: each script’s title, text, version, when it last changed and whether it is in Recently deleted.
- Your subscription: the App Store transaction ID of your Pro subscription, which plan it is and when it ends, so your other devices know you have Pro.
We do not store your settings, recordings, imported files or anything voice-follow hears.
We use this information only to provide sync and Pro to you. Your scripts are visible only to your account: the server checks every request, and we do not read, analyse or use your scripts for any other purpose, including training any kind of AI model.
Where it is kept
Sync runs on Supabase, which hosts our database on Amazon Web Services in the United States (Oregon). Information is encrypted in transit between the app and the server. Like most online services, the hosting provider keeps short-term technical logs of requests, such as IP address and time, for security and troubleshooting.
Purchases and subscriptions
Pro is a subscription sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment using your Apple Account, and we never receive your name, card or payment details from Apple. When you buy or restore Pro, the app sends the App Store’s signed record of the purchase to our server so we can check it is genuine and connect it to your account for sync. Apple’s handling of purchases is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
What we don’t do
- We show no ads and use no analytics or advertising tools.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with anyone.
- The only third-party code in the app that talks to a server is the Supabase library, used for sign-in and sync, and only when you use them.
Keeping and deleting information
- Deleting a script moves it to Recently deleted, where you can restore it. If you use sync, its text is erased from our server 30 days after you delete it.
- Delete Permanently in Recently deleted removes a script straight away, from the device and, if you use sync, from our server.
- Delete account in the app’s Settings, under Account, deletes your account and everything stored with it on our server (your scripts and subscription record) immediately, and disconnects Teleprompter GT from Sign in with Apple. Scripts already on your devices stay there until you delete them or the app.
- Deleting the app deletes everything it kept on that device, except takes you saved to Photos or moved elsewhere.
Deleting your account does not cancel your Pro subscription. Apple manages subscriptions: cancel it in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your device. You can also ask us to delete your account by emailing us.
Launch waitlist
Before the app is out, you can leave your email address on our website to hear when it launches. We store only that address and when you added it, in the same Supabase database described above. We use it for one email, when Teleprompter GT is available on the App Store, with a one-time App Store code for a free month of Pro, and then delete the list. We don’t add it to a newsletter or share it with anyone. To be removed sooner, email us and we’ll delete it.
Children
Teleprompter GT is made for creators, presenters and professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you the right to see, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to how we use it. You can see and edit your synced scripts in the app, and delete your account there yourself. For anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days. We process sync data because you asked us to provide sync (to perform our contract with you). If you are outside the United States, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this policy and its effective date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
