Learning Labs:Write
A handwriting app for kids on iPad, where children learn to write letters, cursive and numbers, one stroke at a time.

Write a name the way the app teaches it
These are the app's own letters, drawn stroke by stroke. Each green dot is where the pencil goes down.
One letter, start to finish
Every letter is learned the same way a teacher at the table would show it: watch it, trace it, then write it with a little less help each time.
Meeting a letter
Coming back to it
Every try

Three paths to follow
Joined-up cursive: every small letter and capital, the joins between them, then whole words and short sentences. 476 lessons.
Kept on the iPad
There’s no account and nothing to sign in to. Your child’s name, every letter they write and every star they earn stay on the iPad they wrote them on.
We never see any of it. There are no ads, no analytics and nothing that tracks your child, and the app asks for no permissions: no camera, no microphone, no location.
Subscribing goes through Apple, so we never see your name, email or card either. The subscription, the settings and the practice sheets sit behind a grown-up question.
Remove a child for good and their writing is deleted. Delete the app and everything goes with it.

Questions
Who is it for? Children learning to write, from their first print letters in preschool and kindergarten to the joined-up cursive taught in the early school years.
Does it teach print handwriting or cursive? Both, and numbers too: 296 lessons of print letters, 476 of cursive with the joins, words and short sentences, and 52 for the numbers 0 to 9.
Does my child need an Apple Pencil? No. A finger works, and so does an Apple Pencil.
Which iPads does it run on? Any iPad with iPadOS 18 or later.
Does it work without the internet? Yes. Everything is on the iPad; it only goes online when a grown-up subscribes or restores a purchase.
Is it right for left-handed children? Yes. Choose the left hand, and the letter, the guides and the buttons move so nothing sits under the writing hand.
Which cursive does it teach? A joined, slanted school cursive, drawn in-house. Each letter keeps the same shape from the first trace to writing on its own.
How many children can share one iPad? Up to eight, each with their own pet, progress and settings.
What happens when the free lessons run out? A friendly card says the path stops here for now and a grown-up can open the rest. A child never sees a price.
Can I see how my child is doing? Yes. Behind the grown-up question: lessons done, letters that need work, and recent tries played back stroke by stroke.
Can I limit screen time? Set 10, 20 or 30 minutes of writing a day for each child. The app stops between lessons, never in the middle of one.
What if I cancel? Lessons past the free ones close again, but every star, coin and thing bought in the shop stays.
Is my child’s data collected? No. Nothing your child writes leaves the iPad. The privacy policy has the details.
